Purpose
Responsible for the general maintenance, repair and upkeep of the building, material handling equipment, and all other machines used throughout the operation.
Scope
Under general supervision, performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance, construction, modifications, and repair activities.
Essential Functions
- Must comply with all EH&S regulations for the protection of the environment and maintain safe working conditions.
- Policies, procedures, and work instructions must be adhered to for quality assurance and internal / external customer satisfaction.
- Work with all levels of the organization to prevent equipment failure and correct any problems that exist.
- Efficiently and effectively troubleshoot and repair all issues involving the facility and/or its equipment.
- Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory levels.
- Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Duties
- Responsible for the completion of all maintenance service requests.
- Schedule and complete the Preventative Maintenance Program on all equipment.
- Monitor and maintain all building systems as assigned.
- Aid in changing the batteries on all material handling equipment as needed.
- Assist in monitoring all work being performed by outside contractors.
- Ensure all equipment is in proper working order and all safety guidelines are adhered to.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
- Ability and willingness to work alternative shifts as required.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to handle the pressure of deadlines, coupled with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to understand all drawings, diagrams and instructions for equipment / machinery.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel.
- The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
- The employee is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee may be exposed to heights up to 30 feet.
- The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles, and can be exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold including climates consistent with outside weather conditions.
Training
- High school diploma or GED
- Technical or Trade School Certification
- Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.
- Prior equipment and facility maintenance experience preferred
