Job Summary

Kemps Dairy has immediate job openings for skilled plant maintenance technicians. This position is responsible for the care and maintenance of all property and production assets, ensuring the continued operation of machinery and equipment in various capacities.

About the Role

This role plays a crucial part in maintaining the smooth operation of production, packaging, processing equipment, and utility systems. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing facility, preferably in the food and beverage industry.

Responsibilities

  • Complete planned and unplanned maintenance requirements on production, packaging, processing equipment and utility systems.
  • Ensure the continued operation of machinery and equipment in an electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, pneumatic and hydraulic capacity.
  • Handle basic hand tools and perform tasks such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure.
  • Stand, walk, kneel, and bend throughout the shift; occasionally required to climb or balance.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Work in a cold, wet environment with moderate to high noise volume and may experience some exposure to fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, or allergens.
  • Occasionally work flexible hours including overtime and weekends.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Highly motivated and positive attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively alone or with a team.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screenings including drug, background, and criminal checks.
  • Two years of experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing facility, preferably in the food and beverage industry.
  • Two years of experience with one or more technical experiences: Electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, millwright, pipe fitter, electronic, computer-controlled equipment, PLC and/or HVAC.
  • One year experience with a variety of equipment including lubricating, cleaning, material handling, motor control, relay control, process control and packaging equipment.
  • Basic skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to work in a cold, wet environment with moderate to high noise volume and may experience some exposure to fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, or allergens.
  • Willingness to work occasional flexible hours including overtime and weekends.

Pay

$32+ per hour based on experience.

Schedule

The open position is 7pm-7am. The schedule pays 36 hours on the first week and 48 hours on the second week, averaging 42 hours every 2 weeks.
