About the role
We are currently accepting applications for a Maintenance Technician within our long-term care and rehab facility specializing in geriatrics. This position requires dedication to a job well done, dependability, flexibility, accountability, and a positive attitude is a must. Must enjoy working with our residents and families.
Responsibilities
- Assist the maintenance director in the facility’s preventive maintenance program and address maintenance-related issues identified on facility grounds.
- Daily trash pick-up on the facility grounds.
- Painting and sheetrock repair as needed.
- Aid in ensuring preventive maintenance is conducted and compliance with fire and safety codes.
- Perform weekly and monthly maintenance checks of the building and grounds.
- Ensure proper maintenance of the facility including carpentry work, grounds keeping, painting, equipment, and HVAC systems.
- This position requires on-call rotation for facility maintenance emergencies.
Requirements
- Experience in health care maintenance preferred but not required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid driver’s license
- Completion of elementary education with the ability to read, write and follow oral/written instructions
- Must have basic computer knowledge
- The ability and willingness to learn
- Must be knowledgeable of boilers, compressors, generators, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Excellent communication skills dealing with resident’s, sponsors, visitors, and staff
- Knowledge of safety regulations and building codes.
