Maintenance Technician

What You’ll Do

  • Ensure timely and thorough completion of all resident service requests, including after-hours and emergency needs.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation with the rest of the maintenance team.
  • Execute unit turnovers and make-readies for new residents to meet move-in deadlines with high-quality standards.
  • Proactively maintain the exterior and common areas of the community, including grounds, breezeways, and shared spaces, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment.
  • Perform swimming pool maintenance and ensure compliance with applicable health and safety standards, where applicable.
  • Identify and address maintenance issues proactively to minimize disruptions and improve property efficiency.
  • Consistently adhere to OSHA standards and company safety policies.
  • Promptly report any hazards or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Utilize property resources, tools, and supplies efficiently and safely, ensuring proper care, maintenance, and inventory of equipment.
  • Work closely with the maintenance team and other departments to meet property goals and foster a culture of teamwork and support.
  • Maintain the required uniform and ensure a professional and approachable appearance at all times.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management.

Where You’ll Work

The Verge Orlando is a student living apartment community located less than one mile from the University of Central Florida. Our fully furnished studio, two, three, and four-bedroom student apartments are pet-friendly and complete with luxury amenities the ultimate student living experience in Orlando, FL.

What You’ll Own

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Basic English communication skills to follow instructions and interact with residents and team members are necessary. Previous general maintenance experience, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliances, is preferred. EPA Certification (Type I and II) is preferred but not required in all locations. Basic computer skills, including the ability to use maintenance management software and email systems, are essential. Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication are required. Ability to frequently walk and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl is needed. Must be able to lift/move loads up to 50 lbs. and use a ladder. Must live within 30 miles of the assigned property and have reliable transportation to participate in on-call duties.
