Responsibilities
- Assist an experienced technician with basic maintenance tasks, including routine checks, simple repairs, and preventative maintenance activities.
- Learn to recognize early signs of equipment issues and help initiate appropriate repair or reporting processes.
- Perform general janitorial duties such as trash removal, restroom cleaning, machine cleaning, and other housekeeping tasks as needed.
- Operate heavy equipment to assist with loading and unloading trucks.
- Absorb and implement proper alignment, balancing, and setup techniques for various types of equipment.
- Participate in troubleshooting activities with guidance from experienced technician.
- Work closely with the supervisor to complete tasks ranging from simple part replacements to more advanced maintenance activities as skills develop.
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed or directed.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- 1+ years of experience in Production, Operations, and/or Maintenance
Additional Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Experience troubleshooting issues, identifying and completing appropriate repairs, and implementing measures to prevent reoccurring maintenance problems
- Working knowledge of the operations, control, and functions of equipment and machinery
- Ability to work extended hours as needed
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work independently for extended periods of time, as well as in confined spaces and in hazardous environments.
- Ability to spend long periods of time on your feet including walking, standing and climbing steps and ladders, and working at heights up to 120 ft.
- Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to wear all required protective equipment may include respirators, hard hats, and eye and hearing protection.
- Ability to use both automated and manual tools and equipment.
- Ability to shovel, sweep, load, unload, lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs frequently
- Ability to work in noisy ,dusty, and all-weather conditions
