Maintenance Technician

About The Role

Utilizes skills to perform preventive maintenance and corrective repair of building, systems, equipment and grounds at client locations, all within proximity of each other. Works under limited supervision, utilizing skills such as carpentry, painting, furniture assembly, locksmith, minor plumbing and electrical.

What You’ll Do

  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
  • Review all work orders submitted.
  • Estimate time and materials needed to complete repairs and communicate with requestors.
  • Order necessary materials and supplies to complete all assigned tasks.
  • Schedule vendors as needed.
  • Perform daily facility tours, including auditing bathrooms, kitchens and conference rooms.
  • Document findings and proactively recommend appropriate actions for repairs.
  • Ensure facility is maintained to client specifications from an organizational and safety perspective.
  • Act as a liaison with work being performed by outside contractors as needed.
  • Support contracted work including snowplowing, remodeling, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, food service, event and equipment setup and breakdown, and cleaning.
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
  • Occasional weekend work.
  • Travel to other local client locations.

What You’ll Need

  • A high school diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 2+ years of job-related experience.
  • In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Universal CFC certification preferred.
  • Additional certification in one or more of the following: electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry or engine repair.
  • Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
  • Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
  • Self-starter and being proactive are very important.

Pay

The minimum salary for this position is $55,000 annually [or $26.44 per hour] and the maximum salary for this position is $65,000 annually [or $31.25 per hour]. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE's applicable benefit program.
