Duties and Responsibilities
- Assure grounds are maintained in a clean and safe manner.
- Perform minor maintenance at all parish properties, including but not limited to painting, changing light bulbs and ac filters, minor carpentry, and trash removal.
- Provide general assistance as needed through setting up and taking down of tables, chairs and dance floor for events.
- Responsible for the removal of trash after events as needed.
- Any other duties as assigned by Pastor, Parish Administrator, Head of Maintenance
Necessary Qualifications
- Successful work experience in minor repair work in carpentry and painting.
- Successful work experience in maintaining grounds, parking lots and roads.
- Able to lift 50 pounds.
- Able to bend, lift, reach and stay on feet for the duration of shift.
- Must successfully pass the required criminal background check prior to employment and every five years.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
Reasoning Abilities
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical Demands
- Physical stamina to handle a full shift of being active and working on the building.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions
- Employees will follow OSHA guidelines and immediately report any work-related injury.
- Employees are exposed to noise levels that are generally moderate; the office area is quiet, and some areas of the facilities or construction sites are loud.
