Maintenance Technician

About the Role
The successful candidate will preserve the good condition and functionality of premises, performing a variety of maintenance tasks such as painting, building and machinery repairs, preventive maintenance (PM), and landscaping. The ideal candidate will work autonomously, observe all health and safety guidelines, and maintain buildings and common areas in optimal condition.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair equipment.
- Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Maintain electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, assist with new electrical installations).
- Perform preventive maintenance on heating and plumbing systems.
- Conduct manual repairs (fix locks, replace windows, etc.).
- Perform general upkeep procedures (landscaping, painting, carpentry, etc.).
- Offer input in budget preparation and ensure adherence to it.
- Operate a forklift for waste management duties throughout the facility.
- Write and follow work instructions for preventive maintenance tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor or manager.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; certificate in building/machinery maintenance technology or a relevant field is a plus.
- Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) is desired.
- Two or more years of related experience.
- Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems.
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
- Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices.
- Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
- Good physical condition and strength; willingness to work overtime.
Safety Requirements
- Report all injuries/illnesses to a supervisor on the day of the incident.
- Report any unsafe conditions identified in the work area to a supervisor.
- Comply with all CAF USA safety policies, procedures, and requirements, including Job Safety Analysis (JSA) procedures.
- Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as communicated and supplied.
- Keep the work area clean and orderly at all times.
- Attend all required CAF USA training before starting assigned work.
- Do not operate CAF USA equipment (forklifts, cranes, scissor lifts) until certified to do so.

Pay
A reasonable estimate of the current wage range for this role is $30.00/hour to $37.00/hour, taking into account skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and organizational needs.
