Maintenance Technician
About the role
The Maintenance Technician position is available within Brookfield Properties, a company known for offering a variety of residential living options tailored to different stages of life. Responsibilities
- Repairs and cleans HVAC systems
- Replaces and installs plumbing fixtures and parts
- Performs carpentry tasks such as repairing and installing doors, shelves, countertops, locks, etc.
- Paints drywall/plaster repairs and performs painting tasks
- Assists with electrical/appliance repairs including lighting, wiring, power circuits, and replacing switches, lamps, etc.
- Maintains machinery like chillers, belts, pumps, fans, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 1-2 years of required experience in Commercial Property or Multi-Unit Residential Property
- Preferred certifications in HVAC, Electrical, or Plumbing (depending on property)
- Valid driver's license may be required depending on property needs
- Self-motivated, team-player, strong communication, interpersonal, attention to detail, customer service, and personal accountability skills
- Ability to work weekends - Saturdays and Sundays
- Computer and smartphone literacy required
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, for all work-related responsibilities
- May have multilingual skills as a plus
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 3-4 years of experience can offset minimum educational requirements for this position
