Maintenance Technician
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Aid in enhancing tenant and customer satisfaction and maintaining positive relationships through the manner in which work is performed and services delivered.
- Complete removal, disposal, and delivery of furniture.
- Assemble furniture systems.
- Ensure work order requests are completed on time, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Maintain quality standards for BGIS and the client.
- Perform activities in accordance with established processes and internal and external requirements.
- Monitor sub-contractors to ensure successful completion of projects.
- Perform regular walkthroughs to observe furniture condition and deficiencies, offering recommendations for enhancement and repair.
- Respond to routine and on-demand service requests and perform preventative and corrective maintenance relating to furniture systems and repairs.
- Maintain work order records within the service management maintenance database.
- Participate in facility-related projects.
- Maintain all assigned tools and arrange for repair and replacement as required.
- Submit all expenditures on a timely basis.
- Attend training, safety meetings, operational meetings, toolbox talks, and other information sessions.
- Contribute to the completion of other key initiatives as assigned.
Required Education, Knowledge, And Abilities
- High School Diploma or equivalent plus some trade-related training.
- Ability to adhere and properly execute processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance.
- Experience in assembling/disassembling furniture systems preferred.
- Previous work in basic furniture repairs such as arm, aster, and pneumatic cylinder preferred.
- Strong environmental, health and safety mindset.
- Ability to perform work in a safe manner.
- Strong client service orientation along with a high sense of urgency.
- Effective communication skills for data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification.
- Ability to work independently and contribute positively to teamwork.
- Entry-level knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Ability and willingness to travel.
- Current valid driver's license and ability to provide personal transportation for meetings and job visits away from the office with reimbursement.
Pay
The salary range for this position in the US is $25-$30 per hour.
