Maintenance Technician

About the role

This Maintenance Technician position is available at Surventis' Coatings division in Southfield, MI. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of Mechanical Maintenance experience in a commercial or industrial setting. A professional mechanical certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop a safe way to execute repairs, permitting and overseeing contractors.
• Have a thorough understanding and application of handyman activities including but not limited to: basic plumbing, carpentry, masonry, electrical, landscaping, painting, drywall, general construction, weatherproofing and cabinetry.
• Complete thorough inspections of buildings to find safety or other maintenance related problems.
• Complete office employee work orders in a timely basis as assigned including basic electrical wiring, basic plumbing skills, furniture moving, hang TVs/Art etc.
• Complete technical employee work order requests including troubleshooting electrical, replacing lights, fix doors, work on cabinet drawers, perform office moves, replace ceiling tiles, paint, hang dry wall, caulking, tile, plumbing, running ethernet cable, etc.
• Landscape, move equipment, and other physical work frequently with weights greater than 50 lbs.

Requirements

The successful candidate must have a valid state Drivers License and be able to regularly lift 50 lbs. Flexible scheduling is required, with the ability to work up to 1 Saturday of overtime monthly.

Qualifications

A minimum of 5 years of Mechanical Maintenance experience in a commercial or industrial setting. A professional mechanical certification is a plus.
