Maintenance Technician

About the role

We're seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team at Avenue5 Residential. This position involves addressing a variety of maintenance tasks and ensuring high standards of customer service and property upkeep.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs to electrical, plumbing, appliances, flooring, carpentry, HVAC, and grounds maintenance according to state guidelines.
  • Carry out general carpentry duties such as wallboard repair, countertop/cabinet replacement, finish carpentry, window/glass repair, door/lock repair, and ceramic tile repair.
  • Conduct proactive preventative maintenance including siding, painting, lighting, sprinkler, pool, golf-cart, elevator, and other services.
  • Verify and complete all work orders in a timely manner to meet company and resident standards.
  • Inspect property grounds, buildings, and common areas to ensure safety and cleanliness.
  • Assist with property emergencies like snow removal, fire, and flood responses.
  • Communicate promptly with maintenance leadership regarding maintenance issues.
  • Maintain a safe environment by adhering to local, federal, state, and company rules and regulations.
  • Participate in emergency on-call/after-hours maintenance assignments.
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Foster a collaborative relationship with residents, other properties, and associated agencies.
  • Adhere to the company's risk management program.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience in property management or a related field.
  • General maintenance and carpentry skills.
  • A valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and current auto insurance.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to cope with challenging situations.
  • Professional appearance and uniform compliance.
  • Completion of the Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity and Inclusion Training within 30 days of employment.
