About the role
We're seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team at Avenue5 Residential. This position involves addressing a variety of maintenance tasks and ensuring high standards of customer service and property upkeep.
Responsibilities
- Perform repairs to electrical, plumbing, appliances, flooring, carpentry, HVAC, and grounds maintenance according to state guidelines.
- Carry out general carpentry duties such as wallboard repair, countertop/cabinet replacement, finish carpentry, window/glass repair, door/lock repair, and ceramic tile repair.
- Conduct proactive preventative maintenance including siding, painting, lighting, sprinkler, pool, golf-cart, elevator, and other services.
- Verify and complete all work orders in a timely manner to meet company and resident standards.
- Inspect property grounds, buildings, and common areas to ensure safety and cleanliness.
- Assist with property emergencies like snow removal, fire, and flood responses.
- Communicate promptly with maintenance leadership regarding maintenance issues.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to local, federal, state, and company rules and regulations.
- Participate in emergency on-call/after-hours maintenance assignments.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor and appearance.
- Foster a collaborative relationship with residents, other properties, and associated agencies.
- Adhere to the company's risk management program.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of experience in property management or a related field.
- General maintenance and carpentry skills.
- A valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and current auto insurance.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Basic math skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to cope with challenging situations.
- Professional appearance and uniform compliance.
- Completion of the Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity and Inclusion Training within 30 days of employment.
