Maintenance Technician

About the role

We're seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Gruene Crossing. This position involves a variety of tasks from routine repairs to proactive maintenance, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs to electrical, plumbing, appliances, flooring, carpentry, HVAC, and grounds maintenance.
• Carry out general carpentry duties like wallboard repair, countertop/cabinet replacement, and finish carpentry.
• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections, including siding, painting, lighting, sprinklers, pools, golf-carts, elevators, and more.
• Complete work orders promptly and ensure they meet company and resident standards.
• Inspect property grounds, buildings, and amenities to maintain safety and cleanliness.
• Assist with property emergencies, such as snow removal, fires, and floods.
• Communicate maintenance issues to leadership and address them promptly.
• Maintain a safe environment by observing and promoting safety protocols.
• Participate in after-hours maintenance as needed, adhering to response times and addressing emergencies.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and curb appeal, interacting courteously with residents.
• Foster positive relationships with residents, other properties, and associated agencies.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including risk management programs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in property management or a related field.
• General maintenance and carpentry skills.
• A valid driver's license, clean driving record, and current auto insurance.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Proficiency with general office equipment and basic math skills.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to multi-task and cope with challenging situations.
• Professional appearance and adherence to uniform policy.
• Compliance with safety requirements and risk management programs.

Skills

• Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
