Maintenance Technician
About the role
We're seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team at Avenue5 Residential. This position involves a variety of maintenance tasks and customer service responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Addressing electrical, plumbing, appliance, flooring, carpentry, HVAC, and grounds maintenance needs as directed by the maintenance supervisor or property manager.
- Performing carpentry duties such as wallboard repair, countertop/cabinet replacement, finish carpentry, window/glass repair, door/lock repair, and ceramic tile repair.
- Carrying out preventive maintenance tasks including siding, painting, lighting, sprinkler systems, pools, golf-carts, elevators, and more.
- Maintaining the work order system to ensure all orders are completed promptly and meet company and resident standards.
- Inspecting property grounds, buildings, and common areas to maintain safety and cleanliness, and identifying maintenance issues.
- Assisting with property emergencies like snow removal, fires, and floods.
- Communicating with maintenance leadership about maintenance issues.
- Maintaining safety and risk management practices according to local, federal, state, and company guidelines.
- Participating in emergency on-call/after-hours maintenance assignments.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and curb appeal, and interacting courteously and professionally with residents.
- Fostering positive relationships with residents, other properties, and associated agencies.
- Maintaining a professional appearance and complying with the company's uniform policy.
- Completing and passing the Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity and Inclusion Training within 30 days of employment.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of experience in property management or a related field.
- General maintenance and carpentry skills.
- A valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and current auto insurance.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Basic math skills.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to cope with and defuse difficult situations.
- Professional appearance and compliance with the company's uniform policy.
- Compliance with all safety requirements.
- Completion of the Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity and Inclusion Training within 30 days of employment.

Pay
$20 to $22 per hour.
Schedule

Qualifications
