Maintenance Technician

About the role

We're seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. This position involves addressing a wide range of apartment and property maintenance tasks, ensuring high standards in customer service and property upkeep.

Responsibilities

• Perform various maintenance functions including electrical, plumbing, appliance, flooring, carpentry, HVAC, and grounds maintenance.
• Carry out general carpentry duties such as wallboard repair, countertop/cabinet replacement, finish carpentry, window/glass repair, door/lock repair, and ceramic tile repair.
• Conduct proactive preventative maintenance tasks like siding, painting, lighting, sprinkler, pool, golf-cart, and elevator maintenance.
• Verify and complete all work orders in a timely manner to meet company and resident standards.
• Inspect property grounds, buildings, and common areas to ensure safety and cleanliness, and address any issues requiring maintenance, repair, or replacement.
• Assist with property emergencies, such as snow removal, fires, and floods, and promptly communicate maintenance issues to leadership.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance, fostering a positive relationship with residents and other properties.
• Participate in emergency on-call/after-hours maintenance assignments, adhering to established response times and addressing issues appropriately.
• Ensure adherence to local, federal, state, and company safety and risk management policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in property management or a related field.
• General maintenance and carpentry skills.
• A valid driver's license, clean driving record, and current auto insurance.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Proficiency in using general office equipment.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to multi-task and perform basic mathematical functions.
• Ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism.
• Professional appearance and compliance with uniform policy.
• Compliance with safety requirements and completion of the Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity and Inclusion Training within 30 days of employment.
