About the role
We're seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. This position involves addressing a wide range of apartment and property maintenance tasks, ensuring high standards in customer service and property upkeep.
Responsibilities
- Perform various maintenance functions including electrical, plumbing, appliance, flooring, carpentry, HVAC, and grounds maintenance.
- Carry out general carpentry duties such as wallboard repair, countertop/cabinet replacement, finish carpentry, window/glass repair, door/lock repair, and ceramic tile repair.
- Conduct proactive preventative maintenance tasks like siding, painting, lighting, sprinkler, pool, golf-cart, and elevator maintenance.
- Verify and complete all work orders in a timely manner to meet company and resident standards.
- Inspect property grounds, buildings, and common areas to ensure safety and cleanliness, and address any issues requiring maintenance, repair, or replacement.
- Assist with property emergencies, such as snow removal, fires, and floods, and promptly communicate maintenance issues to leadership.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance, fostering a positive relationship with residents and other properties.
- Participate in emergency on-call/after-hours maintenance assignments, adhering to established response times and addressing issues appropriately.
- Ensure adherence to local, federal, state, and company safety and risk management policies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of experience in property management or a related field.
- General maintenance and carpentry skills.
- A valid driver's license, clean driving record, and current auto insurance.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Proficiency in using general office equipment.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to multi-task and perform basic mathematical functions.
- Ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism.
- Professional appearance and compliance with uniform policy.
- Compliance with safety requirements and completion of the Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity and Inclusion Training within 30 days of employment.
