Maintenance Technician

About the role

We're seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team at Avenue5 Residential. This position involves addressing a variety of maintenance tasks and ensuring high standards in customer service and property upkeep.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs to electrical, plumbing, appliances, flooring, carpentry, HVAC, and grounds maintenance.
  • Carry out general carpentry duties like wallboard repair, countertop/cabinet replacement, and window/glass repair.
  • Conduct proactive preventative maintenance on siding, painting, lighting, sprinklers, pools, golf-carts, elevators, and more.
  • Verify and complete all work orders to meet company and resident standards.
  • Inspect property grounds, buildings, and amenities to ensure safety and cleanliness.
  • Assist with property emergencies, such as snow removal, fires, and floods.
  • Communicate promptly with maintenance leadership regarding maintenance issues.
  • Maintain safety and risk management standards.
  • Participate in emergency on-call/after-hours maintenance.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and interact courteously with residents.
  • Foster a positive relationship with residents and other properties.
  • Adhere to company risk management policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience in property management or a related field.
  • General maintenance and carpentry skills.
  • A valid driver's license, clean driving record, and current auto insurance.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Basic math skills and ability to cope with challenging situations.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Professional appearance and uniform compliance.
  • Completion of Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity and Inclusion Training within 30 days of employment.

  • Ability to multi-task and perform basic mathematical functions.

Pay

$20 to $23 per hour.
