About the role

We're seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team at Seattle House. This position involves addressing a wide range of maintenance tasks and ensuring high standards in customer service and property upkeep.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various maintenance functions including electrical, plumbing, appliance, flooring, carpentry, HVAC, and grounds maintenance.
  • Carry out general carpentry duties such as wallboard repair, countertop/cabinet replacement, finish carpentry, window/glass repair, door/lock repair, and ceramic tile repair.
  • Conduct proactive preventative maintenance on siding, painting, lighting, sprinklers, pools, golf-carts, elevators, and other areas.
  • Verify and complete all work orders in a timely manner to meet company and resident standards.
  • Inspect property grounds, buildings, and common areas to ensure safety and cleanliness.
  • Assist with property emergencies like snow removal, fire, and flood responses.
  • Communicate promptly with maintenance leadership regarding maintenance issues.
  • Maintain a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols and responding to emergencies.
  • Interact courteously and professionally with residents and other properties.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and collaborate positively with the team and residents.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience in property management or a related field.
  • General maintenance and carpentry skills.
  • A valid driver's license, clean driving record, and current auto insurance.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Basic math skills and ability to handle customer service and interpersonal interactions.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to multi-task and cope with challenging situations.
  • Professional appearance and adherence to uniform policy.
  • Compliance with safety requirements and risk management policies.
  • Completion of the Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity and Inclusion Training within 30 days of employment.

Pay

$34 to $36 per hour.
