About the role
We're seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team at Seattle House. This position involves addressing a wide range of maintenance tasks and ensuring high standards in customer service and property upkeep.
Responsibilities
- Perform various maintenance functions including electrical, plumbing, appliance, flooring, carpentry, HVAC, and grounds maintenance.
- Carry out general carpentry duties such as wallboard repair, countertop/cabinet replacement, finish carpentry, window/glass repair, door/lock repair, and ceramic tile repair.
- Conduct proactive preventative maintenance on siding, painting, lighting, sprinklers, pools, golf-carts, elevators, and other areas.
- Verify and complete all work orders in a timely manner to meet company and resident standards.
- Inspect property grounds, buildings, and common areas to ensure safety and cleanliness.
- Assist with property emergencies like snow removal, fire, and flood responses.
- Communicate promptly with maintenance leadership regarding maintenance issues.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols and responding to emergencies.
- Interact courteously and professionally with residents and other properties.
- Maintain a professional appearance and collaborate positively with the team and residents.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of experience in property management or a related field.
- General maintenance and carpentry skills.
- A valid driver's license, clean driving record, and current auto insurance.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Basic math skills and ability to handle customer service and interpersonal interactions.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to multi-task and cope with challenging situations.
- Professional appearance and adherence to uniform policy.
- Compliance with safety requirements and risk management policies.
- Completion of the Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity and Inclusion Training within 30 days of employment.
