Job Specific Tasks
- Read and interpret detailed mechanical, electrical, and PLC ladder logic blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs.
- Use common hand and power tools.
- Show working knowledge of specialized equipment and electronic devices used in basic trouble shooting and repair.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance without supervision, including inspection of mechanical and electrical equipment, making minor adjustments related to the inspection, and performing other advanced maintenance tasks.
- Show confidence in diagnosing more complicated equipment failures of mechanical and electrical devices.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and install equipment, facilities, and parts as required.
- Demonstrate the ability to perform diagnostics and related repair work of critical facility equipment, including but not limited to extruders, ovens, mixers, granulators, and their subsystems and components.
- Demonstrate the ability to do instrument calibrations with minimal assistance.
- Show basic ability to work with PLC systems and programmable software.
Education And Experience
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Two to three years of related job experience is preferred.
- Basic computer skills in MS Excel and MS Word are preferred.
- The M2 position requires completion of the following courses: Instrumentation 2, PLC-2, PLC-3, Hydraulic Control-1, Hydraulic-Control-2, AC Machines-Motor Control 1, Motor Control 2, Pneumatic Control 1, Pneumatic Control 2, DC Machines-Motor Control and Motor Control 2.
- Other courses approved by the Maintenance Manager and HR Department may also be required.
