About the role
Arcosa LWFP, LLC is searching for a Maintenance Technician for their Frazier Park, CA plant. The role supports a positive safety culture, operates in a 24/7 aggregate environment regulated by MSHA safety standards, troubleshoots operation problems, and performs maintenance tasks and repairs.
Responsibilities
- Comply with all industry safety rules, procedures, and applicable government regulations
- Conduct mandatory MSHA pre-shift inspections on equipment and work areas in the plant
- Perform basic preventative maintenance and repairs on production equipment
- Determine causes of operating problems in various areas of the plant
- Weld, fabricate, cut, grind, and operate torches
- Complete and maintain required paperwork and reports for plant equipment and maintenance projects
- Troubleshoot basic 3 Phase/equipment up to 600v
- Maintain contact with kiln operators and quality control to ensure material quality is met
- Climb into and around mobile and plant equipment to make necessary adjustments
- Participate in general cleanup of the plant area, including but not limited to shoveling and sweeping
- Read blueprints and schematics
- Use small power tools and electronic test equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- The ability to stand, stoop, bend, lift, walk, climb stairs, ladders and catwalks up to 60 feet as required and lift weights up to 60 pounds
- The ability to work in a varied outdoor environment (cold, hot, dry, dusty, rainy)
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience
- The ability to read blueprints
- The ability to safely use oxy-acetylene torch or equivalent plasma arc
- The ability to weld (stick, wire), and basic knowledge of welding rods
- The ability to braze, solder
- The ability to fabricate guards and parts as required to meet MSHA Standards
- The ability to use a variety of hand tools
Qualifications
- Frequent use of hands and arms
- Requires ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights, up to 50lbs
- Occasional bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching, ascending, and descending stairs or ladders
Skills
- Safe use of oxy-acetylene torch or equivalent plasma arc
- Basic welding skills (stick, wire)
- Braze, solder
- Fabrication of guards and parts to meet MSHA Standards
- Use of a variety of hand tools
