Troubleshooting, Repairing, and Maintaining Equipment

Use experience and skills to troubleshoot, repair, adjust and maintain manufacturing and ancillary equipment.

  • Troubleshoot, repair, adjust and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical and electronic systems.
  • Possess an ability to use monitoring and testing equipment to facilitate in the troubleshooting, repairing, adjusting, and maintaining of manufacturing and ancillary equipment.
  • Further his abilities, skills knowledge to expand his capabilities in troubleshooting, repairing, adjusting and maintaining existing as well as new equipment and technology.

Responsibilities

Responsible for working safely, follow LO/TO and electrical safety policies.

Qualifications

  • Two-year certificate from college or technical school with a focus in machining and/or electronics; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Education and Experience

  • Two-year certificate from college or technical school with a focus in machining and/or electronics; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Reasoning Abilities

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; risk of radiation; and vibration.
