Responsibilities
- Responding to any emergency or potential emergency.
- Security diligence, including maintaining control of personal key cards, preventing unauthorized entry to the facility by non-Amcor employees, and proper maintenance / security of Amcor information and equipment within your direct responsibility.
- Constant vigilance and participation in Food Safety practices.
- Preventing nonconforming product from being shipped to customers.
- Identifying and recording problems relating to product, process and quality system.
Authority
- Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product or quality systems.
- Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
- Suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes, or systems and verify the implementation of solutions.
Duties
- Observe all Safety precautions, Food Safety requirements and Plant rules to prevent injury to self or others and to prevent loss of material or damage to equipment.
- Follow and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain good housekeeping and 5S.
- Troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic aspects of production equipment.
- Performs preventative maintenance in the facility, infrastructure, and equipment.
- Able to keep records of work completed in work order system and communicate within the department and other departments.
- Maintains safe, clean, and orderly work areas.
- Perform routine and assigned railcar and chemical systems maintenance.
- Diagnose equipment problems and make repairs and/or replacements of mechanisms such as tie rods, solenoid valves, sprue bushings, nozzle heaters, conveyor belts, drives, low voltage, and high voltage electrical systems.
- Able to understand and follow food safety requirements per the SQF standard.
Qualifications
- Capable of physical mobility including sitting, bending, twisting, standing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Maintaining an attendance record within company guidelines and working required overtime.
- High school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Read, write and speak English.
- Past experience / proven ability within the specified disciplines.
- Negative drug screen test results.
- Training required in one or more major areas of maintenance and/or 1-2 years of experience.
- Possess functional knowledge of mechanical and electrical repair/maintenance on manufacturing equipment with one year minimum practical application.
- Possess basic knowledge and ability to use hand tools.
- Basic computer skills, Excel, Word, Lotus Notes.
- Able to pass the mechanical aptitude test.
Preferred Skills
- Powerpoint and AutoCAD are a plus but not required.
- Programming experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of PLC’s beneficial.
