Maintenance Technician Apprentice - Summer
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Learning the multi-skilled maintenance trade through assignments and formal learning
- Developing maintenance skills and abilities
- Strong focus on customer service
- Understanding safety rules and procedures to safely perform all tasks
- Knowing and practicing respectful workplace behavior
- Operating Power Industrial Trucks (PIT)
- Electrical Skills Required: LOTO trained, understands and is trained on the LOTO Deviation Permit Process, understands basic concepts of electricity, understands and operates a volt-ohm-millimeters (VOM) and non-contact voltage testers, understands the basics of electrical machine controls
- Mechanical Skills Required: LOTO trained, understands mechanical fastener types, application and installation procedures, selects and installs various types of fasteners, handles, dispenses and applies various types of lubricants, understands types, properties, storage, handling and application of basic lubricants, understands basic machine shop skills and machine safety, understands and participates in TPM initiatives
Qualification And Skill Requirements
- Must be in a 2-year Associate Degree program in a related field
- Trained in LOTO, Electrical / Mechanical Safe Work Practices, Ladder Safety, CPR, Respiratory protection, Incipient stage fire response, Confined space entry, Fall protection, Enclosed spaces entry, and Aerial lifts
- Operate/be trained in the use of Power Industrial Trucks (PIT)
- Basic PC skills
- Communication and time-management skills
- Developing customer focus skills
Physical Requirements
- Some heavy lifting required to replace motors, pumps, extruder screws, etc., at low frequency
- Occasionally squat, crawl, reach above shoulders, kneel and balance
- Requires repetitive action such as simple staring, grasping, firm grasping, and fine manipulating (includes right and left hands)
- Outside work required
- Working with various chemicals
- Working in confined space conditions
- Wearing the proper PPE
- Handling hazardous waste wearing the appropriate PPE
- Working near energized electric circuits
- Working near/on hot equipment/materials

Profit Sharing
In 2026 Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $3,600 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit Sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
