About the Role
As a Maintenance Technician at DHL Express, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of material handling equipment (MHE) and all associated equipment within the hub.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on assigned equipment, including tilt tray sorters, feeder components, conveyors, scales, scanners, cameras, variable frequency drives, and more.
- Troubleshoot and communicate effectively regarding equipment issues.
- Read and comprehend electrical connection diagrams and schematics.
- Utilize hand tools, electrical testing equipment, and computers in the performance of duties.
- Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, snorkel/boom lifts, pallet jacks, and small conveyance vehicles as needed.
- Wear applicable personal protective equipment (PPE), including arc flash protection gear, and follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Perform facilities maintenance tasks, such as high-speed overhead doors, lighting, power distribution, HVAC, boilers, dock levelers, fire protection systems, generators, and more.
- Maintain knowledge of ASi systems, Profibus networks, Siemens PLCs, HMI, and GDU applications (a plus).
- Use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), specifically Maximo (a plus).
Requirements
- Wear 100% all-cotton uniforms (part of arc flash protection gear) and safety toe boots at all times.
- Supply a small, pre-determined list of personal hand tools.
- Skills in metal fabrication, welding, torches, and rigging are a plus.
Qualifications
- Detail-oriented, self-starter with a positive attitude.
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders frequently.
- Lift up to 70 lbs regularly.
- Work in hot, cold, and inclement weather conditions.
- Stand for long durations.
