About the Role
Maintenance technicians provide technical support, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and rebuild machines, perform preventative maintenance duties as assigned, and respond to breakdowns professionally and on time while following all safety protocols. Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems is required.
Responsibilities
- Repair, maintain, and rebuild all production equipment, including electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Coordinate maintenance processes with the production department to minimize impact on production output and packaging
- Respond to calls from production and management to make repairs
- Perform established preventative maintenance programs
- Assist with all aspects of new equipment installation
- Assist management with scheduling maintenance projects
- Maintain accurate and complete departmental records
- Record all work in Fiix CMMS
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, construction drawings, machine manuals, electrical blueprints/schematics
- Ensure all equipment adheres to all applicable safety requirements
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain good 6S housekeeping standards
- Work with contractors as needed
- Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs
- Able to mentor and train Technicians 1 and 2
- Design and implement equipment improvements
- Troubleshoot PLC systems to component level
- Download or upload PLC programs
- Change and program drives and HMIs
- Select replacement parts for obsolete components
- Make changes to programs when needed
- Perform PMs on all equipment and write PMs
- Lead, critique, and improve Kaizens
- Champion, guide, and present 6s projects
- Participate in regular 6s activities
- Correct PPE violations when seen and report continued violations to leads
- Identify safety hazards and implement corrective actions
Requirements
- Read electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics (know symbols)
- In-depth knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Ability to understand relay logic
- Ability to perform major electrical repairs
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code
- Strong knowledge of Allen Bradley and Omron programs
- 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance
- 5+ years of experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- 5+ years of experience with DC drives, servos, solenoids, photo eyes, relays, limit switches, and electric motors
- 5+ years of experience with PLC systems, preferably Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Direct Logic
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Associates degree in electrical or mechanical field or graduation from a trade school (preferred)
- Any certifications are a plus
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
- Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations
- High volume manufacturing environment with forklift traffic
- May have higher noise volume in areas – hearing protection required
- Requires ability to stand for long periods up to 8 to 10 hours
- May need to lift up to 40 lbs
