About the role

We are looking for a 3rd Shift Maintenance Technician to service and maintain electro-mechanical equipment, including Daniels’ robotic washline, autoclaves, boilers, and various other equipment to support site operations both locally and regionally. This role oversees the daily cleaning and upkeep of the Sturtevant facility by direct leadership of the custodial employee.

Maintenance Technicians start up, regulate, repair, and shut down equipment. They monitor meters, gauges, and computerized controls to ensure equipment operates safely and within established limits. They use sophisticated electrical and electronic test equipment to service, troubleshoot, repair, and monitor heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. They also perform routine maintenance, including overhauling or replacing defective valves, gaskets, or bearings, lubricating moving parts, replacing filters, and removing soot and corrosion.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily maintenance of equipment
  • Conduct hands-on on-site troubleshooting, service, and repairs
  • Communicate with the Service and Engineering team to arrange spare parts, travel schedules, and support
  • Assemble, align, and install equipment and machine upgrades while adhering to timeline and budget
  • Interface with cross-functional work teams such as plant operations, global operations, and suppliers
  • Coordinate with Plant Managers to arrange downtime for maintenance activities
  • Provide weekly reports of tasks completed and pending
  • Offer remote service assistance to plants to restore production quickly
  • Maintain Washsmart inventory at each Daniels location in conjunction with individual plant management

Requirements

  • Mechanical experience in assemblies and production equipment & robotics
  • Welding experience with basic repair work
  • Electrical skills to identify and repair electrical issues and communicate fault conditions
  • Ability to troubleshoot PLC-controlled machines with telephone support
  • Ability to work 3rd shift hours
