Maintenance Technician - 3rd Shift ($6000 Sign On Bonus)
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for servicing and maintaining electro-mechanical equipment, including the robotic washline, autoclaves, boilers, and various other equipment to support site operations both locally and regionally.
About the role
This role involves overseeing the daily cleaning and upkeep of the Sturtevant facility by leading the custodial staff. The Maintenance Engineer starts up, regulates, repairs, and shuts down equipment, monitors meters, gauges, and computerized controls, uses sophisticated electrical and electronic test equipment to service, troubleshoot, repair, and monitor heating, cooling, and ventilation systems, performs routine maintenance, and interfaces with cross-functional work teams such as plant operations, global operations, and suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Daily maintenance of equipment
- Perform hands-on on-site troubleshooting, service, and repairs
- Communicate with the Service and Engineering team to arrange spare parts, travel schedules, and support
- Interface with cross-functional work teams such as plant operations, global operations, and suppliers
- Communicate with Plant Managers to arrange downtime to complete maintenance activities
- Report weekly tasks completed and still to be completed
- Provide remote service assistance to plants with issues, getting them back in production as quickly as possible
- Maintain Washsmart inventory at each Daniels location in conjunction with individual plant management to ensure plants are stocked effectively
Requirements
- Mechanical experience in mechanical assemblies and production equipment
- Experience with robotics
- Welding experience
- Basic repair work
- Electrical experience
- Ability to identify and repair electrical issues
- Communication skills to troubleshoot PLC controlled machines
- Ability to work 3rd shift hours
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar position
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
