Maintenance Technician 3
Job Summary
Maintains and repairs fiber and coaxial transport and distribution cable services including residential and business video, data, telephone, and security.
Responsibilities
- Fulfills demand maintenance and preventive maintenance by troubleshooting and repairing the transport, trunk, and distribution networks from the Master Telecommunication Center (headend) to customer's electronic devices
- Maintains a unity gain network
- Performs FCC-required network tests
- Trains and mentors lower-level technicians
- Supports and resolves escalated issues with various groups including Design, construction, ISP, NOC/ROC
- Coordinates and oversees training initiatives for new and existing team members
- Assists in creating and implementing training materials and best practices
- Conducts regular performance assessments and provides constructive feedback
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license in good standing within the state of current residence
- Ability to obtain DOT medical card and CDL where applicable
- Ability to obtain necessary licenses for security services (if applicable)
- In-depth knowledge of FTTH & RFOG Architecture, including Rolt, back haul, and distribution of plant
- Experience with fiber repair and troubleshooting
- Fiber repair and troubleshooting experience
- Knowledge of ISP or “Hot Hands” for ISP experience
- Experience with OSP Construction tasks
- Ability to comprehend and operate appropriate testing equipment
