About the role
The Maintenance Technician role is located at Collins Aerospace in Coralville, Iowa. This role is classified as Onsite.
Responsibilities
- Performs project work, unplanned repairs, and preventive maintenance on facility systems and production equipment to ensure safe, reliable operations.
- Performs scheduled maintenance on electrical/mechanical equipment used in the production process to maximize machine uptime.
- Troubleshoots and repairs equipment as needed.
- Works with Engineers to improve performance of equipment/processes.
- Involves with facility related processes including HVAC, chilled water, compressed gases, and security/safety systems.
- Works within guidelines of facility safety system.
- Maintains records and completes necessary paperwork.
- Must furnish own hand tools.
- Must be capable of lifting/handing heavy parts, material, or equipment.
- Set priorities under general direction based on workload.
- Uses strong inter-personal skillset to support a multitude of customers.
- Must be willing and able to work 2nd Shift.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Two years of relevant experience in lieu of a High School Diploma or GED.
- U.S. Citizenship - Only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
- This 1st-shift role requires strong troubleshooting skills, the ability to work across mechanical and electrical systems, and the capability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Security clearance is required.
- Candidates must meet physical requirements, furnish basic hand tools, and hold a passing CET Associate exam score.
- Ability to read technical manuals, drawings, and schematics.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and building systems.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain/maintain forklift certification.
- Must be capable of safely working on electrical systems up to 480V, instrumentation/control systems, and mechanical systems.
