Equipment Maintenance

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks on production machinery.
  • Conduct inspections, lubrication, and adjustments to ensure equipment operates efficiently.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
  • Implement effective repairs to minimize downtime.

Facility Maintenance

  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the production area.
  • Monitor and repair facility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.

Safety and Compliance

  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, PPE usage, and safe work practices.
  • Participate in safety training programs and contribute to safety initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (GMP, HACCP, OSHA).

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
  • Document equipment repairs, parts replacements, and maintenance procedures.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Collaborate with production supervisors and operators.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to production staff.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 5 years’ related experience in industrial manufacturing environment, preferably in an automated food processing plant.
  • 5 years’ experience troubleshooting and maintaining electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to electrical and control systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to perform mechanical repairs that include hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to operate a computer to support documentation.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • Daily and frequent exposure to unusual elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, odors, darkness, and poor lighting.
  • Seasonal exposure to weather elements such as extreme temperatures, wetness, and humidity.
  • Physical risks and hazards such as working around mechanical equipment, mechanical hazards, forklifts, chemical hazards, electrical hazards, fire and explosives hazards, and communicable diseases.
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, utilize fine dexterity, and perform tasks involving reaching, kneeling, crawling, and twisting.
