Equipment Maintenance
- Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks on production machinery.
- Conduct inspections, lubrication, and adjustments to ensure equipment operates efficiently.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
- Implement effective repairs to minimize downtime.
Facility Maintenance
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the production area.
- Monitor and repair facility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
Safety and Compliance
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, PPE usage, and safe work practices.
- Participate in safety training programs and contribute to safety initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (GMP, HACCP, OSHA).
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
- Document equipment repairs, parts replacements, and maintenance procedures.
Collaboration and Communication
- Collaborate with production supervisors and operators.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Provide technical assistance and training to production staff.
Minimum Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- 5 years’ related experience in industrial manufacturing environment, preferably in an automated food processing plant.
- 5 years’ experience troubleshooting and maintaining electrical and mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to electrical and control systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to perform mechanical repairs that include hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to operate a computer to support documentation.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
- Daily and frequent exposure to unusual elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, odors, darkness, and poor lighting.
- Seasonal exposure to weather elements such as extreme temperatures, wetness, and humidity.
- Physical risks and hazards such as working around mechanical equipment, mechanical hazards, forklifts, chemical hazards, electrical hazards, fire and explosives hazards, and communicable diseases.
- Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, utilize fine dexterity, and perform tasks involving reaching, kneeling, crawling, and twisting.
