About the role

At Pratt Industries, we seek a Maintenance Technician to join our team in Humboldt, TN. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our sustainable packaging solutions operate efficiently and sustainably.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to safe work practices
  • Optimize equipment for quality production
  • Diagnose and repair A/C and D/C systems
  • Plan, schedule, and execute maintenance tasks
  • Mentor and teach others

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Own tools necessary for maintenance tasks
  • Prior work experience in the corrugated industry preferred
  • Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters
  • Able to calculate figures and amounts accurately
  • Able to apply basic mathematical and reasoning skills
  • Working knowledge of equipment design, product layouts, and quality standards
  • May require a current Lift Truck Operator License and/or other certifications

Qualifications

  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration
  • Ability to work in environments with loud noise levels

  • Technical skills in equipment design, product layouts, and quality standards
  • Mathematical skills including reading a tape measure, calculating percentages, measurements, volumes, and rates
  • Reasoning skills to apply common sense understanding to tasks
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, or crawl

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED. Candidates should provide their own tools necessary for maintenance tasks. Prior work experience in the corrugated industry is preferred.

Language Skills

Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.

Mathematical Skills

Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume, and rate.

Reasoning Ability

Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Able to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.

Technical Skills

The individual must have a working knowledge of equipment design and capabilities, product layouts and production specifications, product quality specifications, and quality standards.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

May be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License and/or other appropriate certification to work in certain areas or on certain equipment.
