About the role
The Maintenance Technician (2nd Shift) plays a crucial role in ensuring Ornua's production operations run safely, smoothly, and efficiently. They collaborate with the maintenance team to support production schedules, uphold quality standards, and minimize downtime through effective preventive and multi-craft maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Perform all duties in a safe manner.
- Install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment.
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, inspection equipment, and material handling equipment.
- Detect fault operations, defective machines and report those and any usual situations to proper supervisor.
- Assure compliance with appropriate safety practices and procedures and with applicable federal, state, and local codes, regulations, and requirements, as well as Ornua’s company policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Perform any additional maintenance related duties as required and assigned.
Requirements
- At least 3 years’ experience in industrial manufacturing maintenance.
- Electrical experience is a plus but not required.
- HVAC experience a plus but not required.
- A strong understanding of electrical concepts and advanced fabrication and welding.
- A basic understanding of plumbing, pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical schematics.
- A good problem-solving skills and safety practices.
- Able to read and comprehend standard operating procedures.
- Able to communicate effectively and professionally.
- Strong basic math skills.
- Knowledge of GMP’s and OSHA is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to drive resolution.
- An independent thinker who can work in a fast-paced and ever-changing organization.
- Able to make sound, independent decisions and handle multiple projects at once.
- Basic computer skills is a must.
- Well organized and attentive to detail.
- A team player with a can-do attitude.
- Able to represent company in an upbeat and professional manner.
- Dependable with a flexible schedule a must.
Physical Demands
- Ability to talk, hear and carry out directions in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ability to work with hands and lift up to 50lbs occasionally.
- Ability to adjust body position to bend, stand, walk, turn, and pivot.
- Ability to make minor decisions based on standard practice.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
