Responsibility
To function as a Maintenance Technician:
- Ensure the employee handbook is being followed.
- Follow all IATF 16949 Instructions.
- Adhere to PPE policy and 5s principles.
- Gain and maintain a complete understanding of all production-related jobs, production requirements, standard work, and other tasks as instructed by supervisor.
- Contribute to building a positive team spirit; prioritize team success over personal interests and able to build morale and commitment to goals and objectives.
Safety
- Respond to first aid or emergencies.
- Ensure the use of safe procedures and standard work.
- Ensure all equipment and machinery are operational and in good working order.
- Understand and utilize lockout/tagout locations on machines and grinders.
Duties, Responsibilities, and Essential Elements
- Analyze and repair all manufacturing equipment, including plastic blow molding, injection molding, and ancillary equipment.
- Understand and perform processes on machines to ensure machine efficiencies.
- Use root cause analysis to determine and correct machine issues.
- Perform basic problem-solving using electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and blueprints.
- Teach and transfer knowledge of mechanical aptitude to others.
- Promote safety in the workplace by ensuring all electrical and mechanical guards and other safety devices are working and in place.
- Promote quality manufacturing by ensuring all quality testing and inspections are completed.
- Complete all assigned Preventive Maintenance (PM) and work orders.
- Maintain 5S in the work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Educational Requirement: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Skills Required: Strong mechanical aptitude; knowledge in electrical, electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and/or reading blueprints; strong reading, mathematical, and communication skills; Lock Out/Tag Out certification; Welding experience preferred; Certification on all Powered Industrial Equipment from company will be required; Computer literacy in Microsoft Office.
- Physical and Work Environment: Frequent exposure to manufacturing operations requires the ability to use all necessary safety equipment. Standing, walking, stooping, and bending are frequent and required. Must be able to tolerate repetitive motions for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds frequently. Ability to stand for at least 8 hours on concrete surface is required. Must be able to tolerate extreme temperatures.
