About the role
This role supports plant operations by performing essential mechanical and basic electrical maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
- Performs duties in a manner that adheres to safety policies and procedures
- Maintains a safe working environment and good housekeeping conditions
- Supports for emergency or unplanned repairs of production equipment and auxiliary systems
- Ensures that all paperwork is completed properly and accurately
- Troubleshoots electrical and mechanical processes and controls as assigned
- Assembles and installs new production equipment, makes mechanical repairs, and electrical repairs (replace motors, drives, fuses, etc.)
- Completes preventative maintenance tasks
- Performs roll changes as dictated by the production schedule
- Reads and interprets blueprints/schematics as they relate to electrical and mechanical requirements
- Operates electrical and mechanical test equipment
- Auto motion experience is a plus (Servo, Steppers, Drive, etc.)
- Sound and problematic decision making
- Maintain good interaction and teamwork with supervisor and co-workers
Requirements
- 1-3 years of plastic extrusion experience preferred
- Basic computer knowledge
- Positive attitude and a willingness to learn
- Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license
- Some form of CMMS, inventory software experience, auto parts store or any parts stocking, or any relatable experience required
- Basic understanding of warehouse/storage layout considered a plus
- Detail oriented
- Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort with measuring tools
- Strong communication skills and positive attitude
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a technical environment
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening
Qualifications
