Maintenance Technician 2nd Shift

About the role

The Maintenance Technician supports production objectives through the Maintenance function by implementing assigned tasks, ensuring continuity between engineering and managerial functions.

Responsibilities

  • Performs hands-on maintenance tasks according to production maintenance priorities, including repairing and troubleshooting of all equipment and support systems for the facility.
  • Assists with the repair and maintenance of the physical structure.
  • Supervises maintenance contractors, when required.
  • Maintains a Maintenance Action Log to track individual repairs and serve as a baseline for future preventive maintenance.
  • Participates in startup and shutdown activities, as required.
  • Aids in Shutdown Task planning and scheduling.
  • Works with vendors/OEM to obtain parts pricing and repair recommendations for process equipment and systems.
  • Incorporates safe practices while completing assigned maintenance work order activities.
  • Maintains the Maintenance Department work area, cleaning up after each task and performing daily care for tools and proper storage of supplies.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in a technical discipline or a minimum of 5 years in Industrial Maintenance in a manufacturing setting.
  • Electrical preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC’s, instrumentation, and other electronics.
  • Willingness to learn and attend training classes as defined by Management.
  • PC literacy and proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Basic Welding Skills a plus.
  • Familiarity with OSHA and Environmental Regulations.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work a flexible working schedule including shift work.
  • Ability to push, pull, bend, and/or lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

PC literacy and proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment and procedures. Basic Welding Skills a plus. Familiarity with OSHA and Environmental Regulations. Good communication skills and ability to work a flexible working schedule including shift work. Ability to push, pull, bend, and/or lift up to 50 lbs.
