Summary
A general maintenance support’s operations by installing, maintaining, and repairing manufacturing equipment. As a team they work to minimize manufacturing machine downtime using corrective and preventive maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Installs, maintains, and repairs manufacturing equipment.
- Installs, maintains, and repairs facility related equipment including: access control systems, fire alarm systems, and gas generator systems.
- Completes preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on various types of equipment.
- Ability to safely troubleshoot and perform basic electrical repairs.
- Operates/maintains machine shop equipment, hand tools, measuring, and diagnostic equipment.
- Documents completed repairs.
- Fabricates, rebuilds, designs, and installs machine parts.
- Maintain compressed air and drying equipment.
- Installs and troubleshoots electrical motors and controls.
- Installs, maintains, and repairs hydraulic systems.
- Constructs electrical control panels from various schematics.
- Implement ways to reduce costs, increase productivity, and eliminate waste.
- Determine to make or buy repair parts, work with outside vendors to source identified components.
- Install and troubleshoot PLC programs.
- Seek out new technology to solve manufacturing problems.
- Train employees skills required to repair manufacturing equipment and on electrical controls.
- Work with engineering team to design and install specialized equipment.
- Install and troubleshoot burners and temperature controllers.
Requirements
- 2-year technical degree or 8 years equivalent experience.
- Ability to use and understand various precision measuring tools.
- Ability to design and upgrade equipment / process.
- Safe operation of shop equipment including but not limited to welding equipment, brake, shears, mills, drill press, lathes, metal saws, hones, surface grinders, etc.
- Working knowledge of blueprints and schematics.
- Knowledge of various welding and cutting techniques.
- Knowledge of plant piping layout (Gas, Air, Water).
- Ability to design and upgrade equipment and processes.
- Ability to rebuild manufacturing equipment with minimal supervision.
- Must possess fork truck certification.
- Uses multiple techniques to rebuild equipment to OEM specifications.
- Understanding of electrical panel components and ability to diagnose electrical circuits.
