Maintenance Technician - 2nd & 3rd Shift

Responsibilities
- Review work orders to prepare for tasks, ensuring readiness with appropriate tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Create work orders in SAP and respond promptly to emergency calls with the right tools and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair complex issues by reading and interpreting technical documents like blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and manuals.
- Disassemble and troubleshoot mechanical equipment, replacing faulty parts with precision and testing for proper functionality.
- Fabricate replacement parts using welding, cutting, and sheet metal work to ensure repairs are done correctly.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on a variety of mechanical systems, including pumps, packaging, slicing equipment, and more.
- Install and maintain essential systems, such as mechanical equipment, piping, and electrical controls, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications and safety regulations.
- Operate a forklift, genie lift, or scissor lift to install new equipment and utilities.
- Adhere to preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Follow company safety protocols, including LOCKOUT/TAGOUT procedures, and maintain a safe, compliant, and high-performance environment.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED, plus 1+ years of related experience in an industrial mechanical maintenance or food manufacturing environment, or 4 years of direct experience in such environments. Vocational Diploma, Technical Diploma, or associate degree from a technical maintenance or vocational school is preferred. Must have the ability to function effectively in a team environment, interact with all levels of personnel, and understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Qualifications
- Ability to operate a forklift, genie lift, or scissor lift.
- Read and execute work orders, write daily reports, and translate equipment manuals.
Skills
- Sharp problem-solving skills.
- Technical knowledge of small hand tools and devices used in general mechanical maintenance.
