Core Functions

The Maintenance Technician 2 will be responsible for building maintenance and a range of basic repairs. This includes but is not limited to troubleshooting and maintaining small tools and equipment. Utilize advanced knowledge as required in diagnosing and repairing our more complex machines. This may include electrical, mechanical, welding, machining, hydraulics/pneumatics, and conveyor systems. Collaborate with engineering to resolve maintenance issues, improve equipment reliability, review procedures, and minimize equipment downtime through data-driven analysis.

Manage the CMMS system, creating work orders, uploading documentation, and updating parts. Assist with inventory, cataloging parts inventory, and ordering replacement parts and shop supplies. Mentor maintenance technician I employees on equipment and advanced manufacturing systems. Rebuild machines, tools and heavy equipment & create special tools to assist with production.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Previous forklift experience strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of experience preferred
  • 3 years of working with mechanical systems, tools, or machines required
  • Completion of related technical training program, certificate, degree, or journeyman apprenticeship preferred

Supervisor Responsibilities

Physical Requirements

  • Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical Activities: climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, crawling, and repetitive motions.
  • Visual Acuity: The worker is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as operating machines such as lathes, drill presses, power saws and mills where the seeing job is at or within arm's reach, performing mechanical or skilled trades' tasks of a non-repetitive nature such as carpenters, technicians, service people, plumbers, painters, mechanics, etc.

Working Conditions

  • The worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, including heat, noise, vibration, and hazards from a production-based environment.
