Responsibilities
- Support and adhere to all plant safety policies and procedures at all times, as well as promoting a safety culture and awareness within their area.
- Affirm all quality and food safety practices are followed at all times in support of BRC.
- Assist other Technicians in the repair and maintenance of printing presses, finishing equipment, and support equipment in a safe manner.
- Perform all maintenance activities such as predictive and preventative maintenance, work orders and improvement projects via the CMMS system.
- Cook and perform all maintenance activities to effectively balance maintenance and production needs.
- Provide a timely, practical, and professional response to work orders, including the ability to communicate with press operators to understand and diagnose equipment issues.
- Root cause analysis to troubleshoot and eliminate primary causes of downtime, etc. to improve OEE (overall equipment effectiveness).
- Maintain good housekeeping in the work areas and maintenance areas.
- Coach machine operators in a positive manner on the proper way to operate equipment.
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic applications.
- Knowledge of AC/DC variable frequency drives (VFD’s), servo motors, and controls wiring.
- Ability to read electrical and pneumatic schematics.
- Ability to use test equipment (multi-meter, laptop, micrometers, calipers, infrared guns, etc.) to aid in troubleshooting equipment problems.
- Programming of PLC’s is not required.
- General skills relating to the use of shop equipment such as drill presses, power tools, mills, and lathes.
- Proficiency with computers, such as email, internet, and MS Office applications.
- Prior CMMS experience necessary.
- Requires physical ability to climb stairs, bend, sit, stand, walk, reach with arms, push, pull and use hands and fingers to feel and handle material for extended time frames.
- Must have ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds repeatedly and regularly. Includes the ability to stoop, squat, crawl and kneel as needed.
- Must be well-organized and have the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Must have ability to multi-task and to identify and execute process improvements as needed.
- Electro-Mechanical studies strongly preferred but not necessary.
