Maintenance Technician 1st Shift

About the role

Cornwall Building Brands is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team. Located in Ballinger, TX, this position offers competitive compensation and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Understands and follows all safety rules and precautions necessary for working with hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical apparatus.
• Installs and repairs various electrical equipment, including generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units and conduit systems.
• Works with blueprints, drawings, layouts, verbal instructions and other specifications.
• Utilizes electricians’ hand tools and measuring/ testing equipment.
• Diagnoses and corrects trouble in electrical systems or equipment, applying standard computations related to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
• Maintains machinery to ensure the production of finished quality products according to order specifications.
• Contributes to continuous improvement efforts in work area.
• Notifies management concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating and ventilating equipment.
• Provides on-the-job direction to new maintenance mechanics and others assisting in maintenance work.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or recognized equivalent.
• Trade certifications for electrical, mechanical systems preferred, but not required.
• Minimum of 1-3 years related work experience in a maintenance mechanic function, or equivalent related experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency in resolving unexpected events and circumstances.
• Experience with electrical, mechanical and structural systems.

Physical Requirements

• Lifting Capacity – ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Mobile – Prolonged periods of time on feet, standing, bending, etc.
• Exposure – Moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and non-climate-controlled environment.
• Noise Tolerance – High noise levels.
