TITLE
About the role
MAPAL Inc. is the US subsidiary of the MAPAL Group, employing over 160 team members across two locations in the United States to ensure superior customer satisfaction. The Port Huron site, located 50 miles north of Detroit, specializes in the manufacturing and reconditioning of PCD tools and serves as the U.S. Headquarters for sales, engineering, design, and administration.
Responsibilities
- Operation of machinery or equipment required to perform the specified maintenance or repair in a safe and effective manner: Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing troubleshooting and preventive maintenance
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments
- Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts
- Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance
- Implement and inspect equipment maintenance according to maintenance schedule
- conducts machine set up, troubleshooting, repairs and preventative maintenance service
- Ensure work area and equipment are maintained, organized and clean to MAPAL standards
- Exceed and exhibit all Mapal Inc. behaviors as defined by policy, procedure and standards
- Ensure written flow charts, work instructions and/or standards for each position responsibility is consistent and accurate. Update, refine and adjust as needed or required
- Actively participates in all cross-functional team projects and assignments as directed by Manufacturing Director
- Tasks as assigned to qualification standard
Requirements
- Experienced Maintenance Technician with focus specific to, electrical, instrumentation, PLC with demonstrated experience with hydraulic and pneumatic. A self-starter with a specific skill set in a hands-on work environment of installation and maintenance of equipment and machinery
- Demonstrated ability to read electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics and perform required work; to use all equipment needed to trouble shoot problems with machines dis-assemble and assemble machines correctly and accurately according to manufacturer guidelines; to understand and effectively execute information, verbal instructions, and written procedures
- Detail oriented and skilled in understanding troubleshooting, process workflow
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision
- Positive, ‘Can do’ attitude and approach
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience in a similar role
