Maintenance Technician 1

About the role

The Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in the fast-paced environment of Step2, reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor. Key responsibilities include inspecting and testing machinery, diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues, installing and repairing electrical apparatus, and setting up and operating various machine tools.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
• Able to diagnose mechanical issues on machinery and equipment.
• Able to mechanically repair equipment.
• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other areas of machinery.
• Install and repair electrical apparatus such as transformers, motors, and control wiring for electronic devices.
• Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain piping systems for hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
• Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs automated machinery and equipment such as programmable controllers.
• Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathes, grinders, drill presses, and milling machines to repair or fabricate parts, jigs, and fixtures.
• Cutting and welding skills are a plus.

Requirements

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team.
• OT As Required

Qualifications

Industrial Electricity experience is preferred but not required. Cutting and welding skills are a plus.

Pay

Starting pay is $26.03 - $33.04/Hr. (based on experience) plus $1.00 shift premium (2nd Shift), $1.00 shift premium (3rd Shift), and $1.00 shift differential (Afternoon Shift, 2:00pm-10:00pm Monday - Friday, Night Shift, 10:00 pm-6:00 am Sunday - Thursday).
