Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all tools and equipment used are accounted for when work is completed.
  • Ensure that clothing worn does not become contaminated causing possible carrying of ingredients, especially allergens, to other areas.
  • Ensuring the cleaning and sanitizing of tools and equipment when completed.
  • Must have Basic general electrical knowledge.
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance tasks such as lubrication, filter changes, and visual inspections.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and minor repairs under the supervision of senior technicians.
  • Support equipment changeovers and sanitation procedures to meet food safety standards.
  • Document maintenance activities and report any irregularities or safety concerns.
  • Follow all safety protocols including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and PPE compliance.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance work areas.
  • Must have strong working relationships with plant personnel.

Equipment Exposure

  • Conveyors – belt tracking, roller checks, and cleaning.
  • Ovens and Freezers – temperature monitoring, gasket checks, and airflow inspections.
  • Baggers, Scales, and Wrappers – sensor cleaning, jam clearing, and basic calibration.
  • Pumps, Motors, and Gearboxes – lubrication and seal checks, and Replacement.
  • Compressors and Ammonia Systems – assist with inspections and log readings.
  • Packaging and Palletizing Equipment – support changeovers and minor adjustments.
