About the role
The Maintenance Technician supports large production machinery through preventative and breakdown maintenance, troubleshooting, and reporting. Under the direction of the Maintenance Team Lead, the role ensures equipment reliability, safety, and performance across the production line.
- Implement the preventative maintenance program for production machinery and equipment.
- Identify and analyze equipment or machinery failures and take corrective actions.
- Maintain and repair pneumatic and electrically controlled systems.
- Clean machines and machine parts, remove and reinstall components as needed.
- Diagnose causes of unexpected breakdowns, make modifications, and conduct test runs.
- Document work performed and record damaged, worn, or broken parts.
- Support the development of internal SOPs and equipment manuals for other departments.
Requirements
- Vocational or community-college degree in electrical, mechanical, or equivalent education, plus three years of related experience (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
- Thorough understanding of OSHA and EPA regulations as they pertain to plant operation and maintenance.
- Ability to operate and analyze facility systems and equipment.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, blueprints, schematics, test meters, and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment and follow instructions from supervisors.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Must pass a record check and drug screening prior to employment.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the production facility.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to discern color-coded wiring.
- Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
Pay
Salary: $25.20 – $35.00 per hour, plus a $1.00/hour night-shift premium.
Schedule
12-hour shifts on a 4-on, 4-off, 3-on, 3-off rotation (5:00 AM to 5:00 PM).
