About the role
The Maintenance Technician I position is part of the facilities team at The Ridge Wellness Social Club, a new 55+ community in the Sierra Nevada foothills. The club offers a range of amenities including a resort pool, restaurant, and various venues for socializing, fitness, and more.
Responsibilities
- Provide superior quality building maintenance to meet the requirements of members and guests.
- Maintain tools and maintenance equipment in working order.
- Keep maintenance room organized.
- Perform building improvements and upgrades as directed by Director of Facilities.
- Perform preventive maintenance checks to inspect equipment.
- Report quality issues and equipment malfunctions to supervisor and follow up with the appropriate action for repair.
- Assemble tools and supplies from the supply room and transport them to the work area for daily assignments.
- Work in a safe manner and use all personal protective equipment (safety gear) assigned.
- Be aware of safety requirements and report unsafe conditions or accidents to supervisor.
- Perform simple carpentry tasks, such as installing shelves, hooks, and locksets.
- Change light bulbs and fixtures.
- Perform skilled electrical tasks, such as changing circuit breakers.
- Open clogged drains, fix leaks, and perform other related plumbing duties.
- Do touch-up painting and repaint rooms.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks and moving furniture when needed.
- Maintain building inventories and supplies.
- Direct maintenance trainees as assigned.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- One to three years’ maintenance experience preferred.
- Certified Pool Operator certification preferred.
- Current First Aid or other safety certifications, as required by the Club.
- Ability to read building drawings and blueprints.
- Ability to communicate positively and effectively with team members and supervisors about job tasks and responsibilities.
- Desire to contribute to a productive work environment by maintaining a positive attitude with team members and the public.
- Must be self-motivated, follow direction, and able to work independently with little supervision.
- Must demonstrate initiative, with an ability to think, work, solve practical problems, and make independent decisions based on sound judgment.
- Must have good time management, organization, and follow-up skills.
- Must be able to consistently achieve high work standards; attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness is expected.
- Must be able to pay attention to multiple details and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement is expected.
Benefits
- New hourly full-time team members working 30 hours or more per week, will be eligible for the Company medical, dental and life insurance plans the first of the month following 60 days of full-time employment.
- Full-Time team members are eligible to accrue Paid Time Off (“PTO”) in accordance with the Company policy at a rate of 120 hours per year.
- Full-Time team members are eligible for 7 paid holidays annually.
- Part-Time team members are eligible to accrue Paid Sick Leave in accordance with state guidelines.
- All team members 21 years and older are eligible to participate in the J.F. Shea Co., Inc. 401(k) plan after completion of 30 days of service.

$20 per hour
Schedule
This position requires a flexible schedule, which may include evenings and weekends.
