About the role

Base pay rate is $26.00 - $31.00 per hour. 1st Shift Hours: 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM; hours may vary depending on operations. We are seeking a dependable, motivated, and team-oriented Maintenance Technician to work in our plant. This position is responsible for maintaining a variety of machines, equipment, and forklifts.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and/or perform routine maintenance on equipment and forklifts.
  • Maintain a list of assets and maintenance records.
  • Keep and maintain an inventory of repair parts, tools, and industrial lubricants and supplies.
  • Inform maintenance managers at other locations of critical breakdowns and report work order completions.
  • Follow safety knowledge and lock-out tag-out procedures.
  • Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns with operators.
  • Communicate with operators, management, and others on plans.
  • Plan and schedule large maintenance projects, including coordinating outside support.
  • Maintain good working relationships with vendors and technical support programs.
  • Assist with or take initiative on construction projects in the plant.
  • Apply intermediate welding knowledge and ability.
  • Learn and operate machinery when needed.
  • Some travel may be required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED; secondary education preferred.
  • Reliable transportation, attendance, and punctuality.
  • Familiarity with managing inventory and assets without a formal computer system.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Knowledge of mechanically powered drive systems.
  • Ability to read schematics and learn through computer/manuals with over-the-phone technical support.
  • Project planning ability.
  • Some welding knowledge and ability.
  • Ability to work on your feet for 80% of the day.
  • Ability to lift up to 40-50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to team accomplishments.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM with flexibility to work later in the afternoon.

  • Some knowledge of electrical and PLC systems is helpful.
