About the role

Earn up to $34.88 an hour in 24 months. This position requires a 2-year commitment and advance testing (Ramsay Tests: Electrical and Mechanical). You will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment, independently determining repair needs 99% of the time. Work with leaders and team members to ensure food safety and partner safety, execute standard operating procedures, perform required checks, and follow reaction plans for outages.

Schedule

12-hour rotating night shift: 6pm–6am with an additional $1.00 night differential.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain familiarity with electrical and electronic equipment throughout the plant, including electronic/hydraulic scale systems and DC circuits on power equipment.
  • Perform complex piping jobs such as installing conduit and control wiring.
  • Design, fabricate, install, and debug control panels from verbal instructions, sketches, or blueprints, ensuring compliance with OSHA and NEC specifications.
  • Ensure all electronic equipment is safe to operate and meets OSHA and NEC specifications, including proper guarding, wiring, and safety signs.
  • Rebuild complex electronic, electrical, and mechanical equipment used in the plant.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in assigned areas within maintenance departments.
  • Perform major electronic modifications to production and support equipment as required.
  • Read, comprehend, and follow complex troubleshooting instructions; identify parts from equipment maintenance manuals, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting on equipment.
  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Use proper lifting techniques and work safely.
  • Maintain forklift certification and work overtime as required.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain volt-ohm meters, oscilloscopes, chart recorders, and other shop and maintenance support equipment.
  • Test-run equipment in all production and production support areas.
  • Use computer-aided drawing equipment to develop electrical sketches and drawings.
  • Develop strong working relationships with team members and other plant departments.
  • Safely operate power equipment in confined spaces such as coolers, warehouses, or production environments.
  • Maintain familiarity with production support equipment (air compressors, shop equipment, boilers, water treatment) and equipment in all production departments.
  • Fabricate complex pieces (conveyors, equipment parts, etc.) from sketches or blueprints.
  • Perform complex plumbing jobs, including fabricating sanitary stainless-steel piping, air, oil, water, and steam systems.
  • Ensure all equipment in assigned departments is safe, including proper guarding, no pinch points, and no sharp edges.
  • Rebuild gearboxes, hoists, and other complex equipment used in the plant.
  • Complete all record-keeping tasks such as work orders, material requisitions, downtime sheets, parts usage sheets, and miscellaneous logs.
  • Report and perform necessary maintenance on facilities and equipment.
  • Perform periodic inventory checks on electronic materials.
  • Program and troubleshoot PLCs with moderate skill.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting on equipment.
  • Record accurate data on production reports and identify/understand customer requirements.
  • Assist in ensuring proper operation and product quality.
  • Other duties as assigned by TA/TL.

Requirements

  • Must pass Ramsay Tests: Electrical and Mechanical.
  • Ability to speak, read, and comprehend English.
  • Working knowledge of operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining various maintenance and shop equipment.
  • Authorization to work in the United States (Schreiber may sponsor work authorization at its discretion).
