Maintenance Tech - Mechanical I

Job Description

Maintain and repair faulty production and related plant equipment with minimal supervision using provided schematics, manuals, and drawings.

Diagnose and repair electro-mechanical problems, troubleshoot electrical issues, and implement preventative maintenance strategies.

Identify faulty parts and place requisitions for spares or replacements. Knowledgeable of spare parts storage and withdrawal procedures.

• Knowledge of machine shop equipment
• Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Ability to rebuild mechanical devices
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and prints
• Welding skills
• Plumbing abilities (copper, PVC, iron pipe)
• Basic electrical systems (3 phase)

Team-oriented with leadership qualities, capable of guiding co-workers in assigned tasks.

Maintain a clean, safe working environment.

Additional duties as assigned by the maintenance supervisor.

Key Job Requirements

• High school diploma/equivalent required
• Four-year technical degree or minimum 5-8 years relevant experience (or similar combination of education and experience)
• Completion of a vocational technical or trade school curriculum with a concentration in electro-mechanical courses desired
• Proven ability to read and use precision instruments such as micrometers and calipers
• Speaking and presenting skills for conducting effective meetings
• Mechanical aptitude
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills
• Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
• Able to lift 50 pounds
