About the Role

The Facilities Team at Givens Estates, a leading continuing care retirement community in Asheville, seeks a Full-Time Maintenance Tech III - HVAC Technician. The primary purpose of this position is to provide maintenance services to residents and employees, maintain the appearance of the campus, and ensure the highest degree of quality care for our residents.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, with on-call duties.

Responsibilities

• Work within the work order process to perform skilled residential tasks with minimal supervision, such as minor plumbing repairs, light electrical repairs, and carpentry
• Take a lead role in campus HVAC repairs; prioritize in-house repairs and oversee contractors as needed
• Participate in on-call emergency maintenance requests outside normal working hours, including holidays
• Maintain and operate facility equipment, including generators, fire systems, nurse call systems, and wandering systems
• Perform other duties or tasks assigned by an authorized supervisor as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent (preferred)
• Minimum of five years of experience in a maintenance worker capacity
• Advanced certification in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or other maintenance areas
• General skills in carpentry, plumbing, painting, and electrical repairs
• Valid North Carolina Driver’s License

Pay

$24.00 - $28.00 per hour based on background and experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
