Maintenance Tech II

About the role

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the overall maintenance of the property. This includes preventive maintenance, painting, and repairs inside and outside the property to provide a safe, attractive, and orderly environment for the benefit, use, enjoyment, and protection of residents, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Make recommendations to Community Administrator on necessary maintenance repairs, preventive maintenance, and property improvements.
• Repair and paint the building exterior as needed.
• Maintain adequate lighting for the interior and exterior of the property.
• Schedule and expedite work order requests.
• Maintain a clean and orderly storage room.
• Capable of using and climbing an extension ladder to access the roof, windows, and siding to make repairs as needed.
• Know, follow, and enforce facility safety rules.
• Complete required training.
• Available to work on-call to ensure that twenty-four (24) hour maintenance is provided to the properties.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of trade or vocational school, with courses in blueprint reading, mechanical drawing, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC equipment, refrigeration, and electricity preferred.
• Minimum two (2) years full-time experience in building maintenance to include construction or maintenance of equipment and utilities preferred.
• Knowledge of state building, plumbing, and electrical codes and ordinances.
• Know how to turn the main water valve and power off in case of emergency.
• Knowledge of basic machinery and tools.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping and documentation.

Schedule

Full Time, Mon-Fri 8:00am-4:30pm with occasional weekends.

Pay

$18.00 per hour.
