About the role
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the overall maintenance of the property. This includes preventive maintenance, painting, and repairs inside and outside the property to provide a safe, attractive, and orderly environment for the benefit, use, enjoyment, and protection of residents, staff, and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Make recommendations to Community Administrator on necessary maintenance repairs, preventive maintenance, and property improvements.
- Repair and paint the building exterior as needed.
- Maintain adequate lighting for the interior and exterior of the property.
- Schedule and expedite work order requests.
- Maintain a clean and orderly storage room.
- Capable of using and climbing an extension ladder to access the roof, windows, and siding to make repairs as needed.
- Know, follow, and enforce facility safety rules.
- Complete required training.
- Available to work on-call to ensure that twenty-four (24) hour maintenance is provided to the properties.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of trade or vocational school, with courses in blueprint reading, mechanical drawing, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC equipment, refrigeration, and electricity preferred.
- Minimum two (2) years full-time experience in building maintenance to include construction or maintenance of equipment and utilities preferred.
- Knowledge of state building, plumbing, and electrical codes and ordinances.
- Know how to turn the main water valve and power off in case of emergency.
- Knowledge of basic machinery and tools.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English.
- Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping and documentation.
Schedule
Full Time, Mon-Fri 8:00am-4:30pm with occasional weekends.
Pay
$18.00 per hour.
