Maintenance Tech II

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain all recycling facility equipment, including heavy mobile equipment, conveyors, balers, shredders, etc.
• Install new equipment and perform preventive maintenance tasks.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment and industrial recycling equipment to minimize downtime and make improvements.
• Maintain Sennebogen and Caterpillar machine handlers.
• Perform repair work on systems including hydraulics, electronic/electrical systems, mechanical repairs, basic fabrication, and preventive maintenance.
• Complete work orders and keep detailed notes of repairs performed.
• Identify necessary parts for repairs and source replacements using computers/internet.
• Work in various positions, including kneeling, bending, crouching, and working at elevated heights for extended durations.
• Observe all safety requirements and lead by example in working safely.
• Give and receive constructive feedback for coaching.
• Work various shifts as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned or directed by maintenance and operations management.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3–5 years of verifiable experience in industrial troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of heavy equipment or in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
• Balances team and individual responsibilities; able to build consensus.
• Works with integrity and ethically; upholds organizational values.
• Must have your own basic hand tools.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Valid state driver’s license.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently required to stand, climb, walk, use hands to finger/handle/feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled production facility.
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 15–50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
